Barcelona have been benefited by Lionel Messi’s good decision-making, but his dominance may cost them heavily very soon in the shape of a major loss.
Barcelona are likely to make some major changes in the summer. Only recently it was reported that the Catalans had earmarked just three players safe from potential sales in Frenkie de Jong, Lionel Messi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The trio has been among Barca’s best players of the season so keeping them at all costs has been justified.

Lionel Messi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen however have been at crossroads of late and that could impact the Germany international’s future, according to Diario GOL. The Barca captain has a very big say in the dressing room which the German shot-stopper does not admire as he feels disrespected despite being a senior player.
Ter Stegen made some serious wage demands from the Catalans prior to the break in footballing activities, but despite his asks being higher than what the club may have estimated, there was a renewal in prospect. However, with the coronavirus draining clubs majorly from their finances, Barca may not be able to satisfy their goalkeeper.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been Barca’s second best player only behind Messi for the last couple of seasons and deserves a raise in his salary. But with that looking increasingly unlikely now, he may be on his way out of the Camp Nou after his relationship with Messi seems to be getting strained by every passing day.
Should the former Borussia Monchengladbach goalie choose to leave, he wouldn’t face a shortage of suitors but Bayern Munich and Chelsea are reported to be frontrunners. Barcelona value their superstar at 100 million euros which is certainly a lot for a goalkeeper, but if the player doesn’t want to stay then the club will be forced to lower its asking price.
Do you think ter Stegen should be let go off for 100 million euros if Barca can sign Andre Onana?
