Real Madrid may be in for a big summer if they manage to secure their right wing with a world-class player also wanted by Barcelona.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are in a tight competition for La Liga which is most likely to go right down to the wire as and when the season resumes. Despite competing between themselves for Spain’s crown, the duo hasn’t been at its best this season and will resort to making reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window.

More from Everything Barca

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is rumoured to be among those who could join one of the Spanish giants. The Portugal international has been one of the Citizens’ best players since 2018/19 but has been touted to leave the Etihad Stadium after the defending Premier League champions have been handed a two-year ban in the Champions League.

Diario GOL has claimed that Lionel Messi has asked Barcelona to chase the attacking midfielder and is a big fan of his versatility and work-rate. Bernardo Silva is capable of playing on either wings as well as in the engine room, providing a fair amount of goals and assists in every role even in a league as competitive as the Premier League.

However, Jorge Mendes has offered his client to Real Madrid and even the player himself feels that Spain’s capital would be the ideal destination for him. Los Blancos are expected to be without an experienced right winger in the upcoming summer as they may have potential clear-outs as well besides incoming players.

Gareth Bale may be shown the door while Lucas Vazquez may also meet the Welshman’s fate. Two potential departures would leave Zinedine Zidane without a right winger as even Kylian Mbappe is now tipped to arrive in 2021. Silva would be the perfect addition to Madrid, but Barca must not give up on their chase of the talented superstar.

Do you think the Blaugrana need a hard-working player like Bernardo Silva on their roster?
