Barcelona is in a desperate need to recruit midfielders for the upcoming season of 2020-21. Quique Setien would be left with only Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, and Arthur Melo as experienced midfielders. To cope with the lack of creativity in the midfield and depth, Josep Maria Bartomeu has prepared a world-class signing from Bayern Munich to add versatility and creativity in the midfield.

The player that the president has considered is former Barca man Thiago Alcantara. The La Masia youth product is hailed as one of the most versatile footballers and has god gifted creative feet that can produce wonders at any given moment.

Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola praised Thiago Alcantara is a man who can play in six different positions during his spell as the manager of the Bavarian team.

The Spaniard can play as a  holding midfielder, a centre midfielder, winger and an attacking midfielder as well, Barcelona would profit from the versatility the player offers since the squad has been suffering a series of injuries this season and as well as the serious lack of depth.

Don Balon claims that the Spanish midfielder has won everything there is to win in  Germany and now wants to return to his home country and preferably wear the Blaugrana jersey once again.

The 29-year-old midfielder’s contract with Bayern Munich runs out 2021 and the Spanish international has just one year left to sign a contract with an elite club before it’s too late.
