Jose Mourinho is looking to make big changes at Tottenham Hotspur and could turn to Barcelona for a little bit of help in the summer.
Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo doesn’t have a guaranteed role in the team anymore after a series of lacklustre performances over the last few months. Since Frenkie de Jong came in, the Brazilian star has found it difficult to link up properly in the engine room and between the two sitting out, the South American is the obvious option.

After a brilliant 2018/19 season, Arthur’s stock at the Camp Nou seems to have fallen and if it is to be believed that the club will resort to making major sales to raise money then clearly the Brazil international may be shown the door. Don Balon has claimed that Jose Mourinho has shown interest in bringing him to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Premier League giants are looking to achieve great things under the former Manchester United manager but it’s clear that they will need to sign players in order to do so. Among those who see no daylight from the current bunch of Spurs stars, Harry Kane has already criticized the club and said that he wouldn’t hesitate in leaving.
Tottenham Hotspur are already planning to get rid of Tanguy Ndombele who seems to have gotten into Jose Mourinho’s bad books following constant injury issues. The former Lyon man was brought by the north Londoners after a great season in France, but England’s first division seems to be more physically demanding than the player would have liked.
In order to offer him an exit route from the Premier League, Barcelona have vested interest in his services so if such a transfer is indeed going to happen, then Arthur could be on his way out. Nevertheless, Barca value their potential successor to Xavi very much and it’s difficult to see him being allowed to leave after just one year at the club.
Neymar’s off-field character seems to have had a major impact on Arthur’s lifestyle and form too, plus, there was talk that Paris Saint-Germain also wanted him some weeks ago. Between Spurs and PSG, France is a better destination given the probability of winning titles, therefore, Jose may need to look at other options to strengthen their squad.
Do you think Arthur’s departure would leave Barca majorly impacted?
