Lionel Messi asks for another pathetic signing from Barcelona

Lionel Messi has urged the Barcelona board to make a massive signing during the upcoming summer, but ideally the club should ignore doing so.

Barcelona will be in the transfer market this summer as they bid to sign Lautaro Martinez and Neymar from Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain respectively. La Liga’s leaders know that sanctioning two extremely expensive transfers will be a difficult task but they are still optimistic about it happening, especially if they get a good deal for Camp Nou’s naming rights.

Between Lautaro Martinez and Neymar, the general sense is that the club’s board is closer to bringing in the former given his price tag. Martinez has a release clause of 111 million euros but even that is proving to be beyond the Blaugrana who are in turn willing to offer a few combinations of swap deals to land their man.

Nonetheless, Inter Milan are being strong in their stance and it looks like they won’t be ready to accept anything less than 111 million euros of complete cash. The Serie A giants are reluctant in letting go of their leading marksman of the season, and therefore, Lionel Messi has told the club to bring in Sergio Aguero, as per Don Balon.

Manchester City’s all-time top goal scorer may want to leave the club in the summer to give it a shot at winning at UEFA Champions League following the Premier League side’s two year suspension from the competition, and Lionel Messi believes his compatriot could be a great signing given his consistent scoring spree in England even at this age.

Sergio Aguero has shown that he is like a fine wine and coming to Spain may see him perform at an excellent level as compared to England, where he is already exceptional. Luis Suarez has not taken ageing as well as some players, but Aguero promises to continue scoring for a few more years but the Catalans must not go for him.

A transfer for the former Atletico Madrid striker won’t cost Barca on the extremely cheap side and for a player in his 30s, anything above 40 to 45 million euros would be a lot. That being said, he will take time to adapt to a completely new atmosphere despite playing in Spain some years ago and that may be a wastage of resources for Barcelona.

Instead, the club must look to sign Neymar by satisfying Paris Saint-Germain’s demand and employ Antoine Griezmann in a central forward’s role. The French star has been playing on the left wing which is a hindered role, but moving centrally may see Barcelona benefit from the goods. Aguero’s signing doesn’t make sense, and neither does Lautaro Martinez’s for the hassle the club is going through.

Who do you think is the ideal replacement for Luis Suarez at the Camp Nou?
