Lionel Messi has requested that the club signs Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich. According to the Don Balon, the Spanish giants have decided against signing the Germany international as he is going to be an extremely costly proposition. Kimmich is one of the best and most versatile defenders in the world and has a market value of around 70 million euros.
Bartomeu has been scouting the market for right-backs and has found a player that he would like to bring to the Camp Nou. The player that is now on the club’s on is Hector Bellerin. Bellerin is one of the fastest footballers in the world and over the last few years the young right back has matured into a reliable player who has shown great composure on the ball with exceptional passing and crossing capabilities. Bellerin’s current market value should be around 40 million euros. Such a price doesn’t provide grace to the player’s quality, however, which is very good.
Bellerin showed signs of growing into a promising player in Barca’s youth academy and was signed by Arsenal in 2011. Over the years the Spaniard has matured into a terrific footballer who has helped the club win the FA Cup in 2014-2015 as well as in the 2016-2017 season. In recent times the club has shown signs that they would like to make the Spaniard the club’s future captain.
However, the full-back has different plans for his future and is desperate to leave Arsenal. Bellerin wants to play football in a club which can offer him the ability to play in the Champions League consistently which the Gunners have failed to provide him with.
A return back to the Camp Nou would be ideal for the 25-year-old right back, primarily because Bellerin would get the chance to play regular Champions League football for a club that contends for titles on a regular basis.
Lionel Messi feels that signing Bellerin would be a waste of the club’s limited funds. The Argentinian captain feels this way as the 25-year-old right-back has had a series of injuries over the last few seasons which have kept the player away from playing football.
Barcelona could try and sign more experienced right backs in the upcoming transfer window. Some of the players Barca could opt to sign are Joao Cancelo and Thomas Meunier.
Joao Cancelo hasn’t found himself a place in Pep Guardiola‘s squad and is eager the leave Manchester City in the upcoming transfer window. The Portuguese international has a market value of around 40 million euros.
Thomas Meunier has decided against renewing his contract for PSG which expires over the summer. The 28 year old defender wants to experience playing football in another league. He has a market value of around 30 million euros.
Do you think Barca should sign Hector Bellerin in the upcoming transfer window?
