Barcelona have joined the race alongside European giants like Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, for Inter Milan midfielder.

Croatian midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic is a wanted man in Europe and according to reports, Barcelona have added him to their transfer list. Marcelo’s current contract expires in 2022 and the Italian side are looking to either make a sale before his contract reaches its final year or extend his stay.

Inter and Barca are already linked as the Catalans are interested in obtaining Lautaro Martinez as the permanent solution to aging Luis Suarez while the Italians themselves are looking to add players like Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, Carles Alena and Nelson Semedo to their squad.

The latest talk is that Brozovic could also be included in the deal alongside Lautaro Martinez in exchange for those four listed players. The 27-year-old has been wearing the Inter colours for five straight seasons ever since he left his former club Dinamo Zagreb in 2016. He was also part of the Croatian national team that reached the FIFA World Cup Final in 2018, subsequently losing the trophy to France.

Liverpool are also reportedly interested in the talented midfielder and have been told by his agent that his current release clause is set at €60 million, and can be triggered only during the first 2 weeks of every July. The Serie A side, however, are looking to remove this clause by offering a contract extension that would increase his salary from €3.5 million/season to €4.5 million.

Blaugrana have witnessed the Croatian international in all four clashes between the two sides. The club know him well and are looking to enquire about his availability as they seek to include his name alongside Lautaro during their potential swap deal.

Should Barca look to trade existing players for both Lautaro Martinez and Marcelo Brozovic?
