Barcelona is on a tight budget due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and may not be in the best of positions to afford their desired targets.

More from Everything Barca

Barcelona have been planning to release some of their players in the upcoming transfer window to reduce the wastage of their limited resources.

Players such as Junior Firpo, Ivan Rakitic, Philippe Coutinho, Arturo Vidal and Samuel Umtiti are on the transfer list and the Spanish giants are looking for replacements to these players in the upcoming transfer window.

One of the players that the Catalans has listed as a potential transfer target is the young 17-year-old Eduardo Camavinga. The young Frenchman plays for Stade Rennais in the Ligue 1. Camavinga is set to become one of the best defensive midfielders in the world of football. He is remarkably strong and has portrays magnificent ball control which is extremely similar to N’Golo Kante’s style of play. According to the Don Balon, teams such as Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus have had Camavinga on their radar. The young midfielder has a market value of around 55 million euros.

The La Liga leaders could benefit from signing Camavinga as they are going through a stage where they are setting up a futuristic team full of young players. The Frenchman will be able to add defensive cover for the Spanish giants and fill in the shoes of Sergio Busquets who is on the verge of retiring from the club.

This is going to be a challenge for Barca as their arch-rivals Real Madrid seem like the favourites to sign Camavinga. The Frenchman is a big fan of Zinedine Zidane and has hinted the fact that he would like play for his side and join Real Madrid. However, there has been no transfer deal being negotiated at the moment.

As is the situation in the Camp Nou, Zinedine Zidane also needs a defensive midfielder to substitute Casemiro and therefore, Camavinga is a mutual target and hence they are relentlessly behind the player. Moreover, the Whites are ready to offer more money to Rennes as well as the player, which tips the balance in their favour.

Who do you think should the club go for, now that Camavinga is more likely to go to Real Madrid?
