Brescia Calcio’s President, Massimo Cellino, welcomes Barcelona’s attempt to sign Italy’s next ‘Andrea Pirlo‘ who is reportedly rated €60 million.

Brescia’s Sandro Tonali has been strongly linked with Barcelona in recent days as a possible midfielder signing for the next season. The Serie A side, however, are demanding a hefty fee for the 19-year-old which could potentially hinder the transfer.

Often compared to Andrea Pirlo because of his looks, Tonali is regarded by many as one of the upcoming stars of Italian football. As such, the club President was reluctant to sell his star especially considering the fact that they are at the bottom of the league. Due to this reason, the Catalans cannot consider any swap attempts as no Barca player would like to join a club who are at the risk of relegating to the lower division.

President Cellino has admitted that several European clubs have shown their interest in Tonali but have not yet started any official negotiations. He also stated that it would be Sandro’s choice and not the clubs.

Barca’s midfield has been struggling but looks to have a bright future with Frenkie de Jong, Arthur Melo and Riqui Puig acclaimed as the future midfield trio, and so it remains to be seen if the Spanish side are willing to spend such an exorbitant amount.
