Barcelona has been hit economically by the coronavirus and might not be able to fulfil Messi’s request. The Spanish giants have been looking for alternatives to sign for in place of the expensive duo.
Over the past few weeks, some players such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling, Jadon Sancho and Serge Gnabry have been linked with potential moves to the Camp Nou.
Messi has shown interest in Jadon Sancho and is keen to bring him to the Camp Nou.
Sancho has been in marvellous form for Borussia Dortmund this season scoring 14 goals and providing 16 assists in 23 league games. The young 20-year-old midfielder has showcased great adaptability by being able to perform from both the flanks on the pitch as well as an attacking midfielder through the middle.
Premier League clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea are heavily linked with a transfer for the midfielder but none of them have made an official transfer offer till now. According to the Don Balon, the young Englishman has an estimated market value of around 120 million euros.
The Blaugrana must try to sign Sancho in the upcoming transfer window as he promises to be one for the future, and statistically speaking, a successor to Messi. He was the only player in Europe’s top five leagues last season to have a double figure in goals and assists, apart from Messi and Eden Hazard, which provides grace to his overall capabilities.
Quique Setian is yet to approach the Bundesliga giants with a transfer offer but many experts believe Barcelona could add Philippe Coutinho to try and reduce the price point for the transfer of the young English superstar.
Do you think Barca will try and sign Jadon Sancho in the upcoming transfer window?
