Barcelona demands an outrageous figure from Juventus for their star player only to increase their transfer budget for the summer.

Shocking news emerges from the city of Turin as Juventus has made a bid for Xavi‘s successor from Barcelona. The Bianconeri are in the need of better midfield and the board at Turin has considered opting for Arthur Melo of Barca who would add more depth to the slow midfield, according to Don Balon.

The midfield at Juventus has slowed down tremendously, the issue with the midfield is the slow transitioning from defending to attacking or vice versa. Three of the five crucial midfielders are thirty and over, the Bianconeri must focus on replacing Sami Khedira, Blaise Matuidi, and Miralem Pjanic.

Previously the Italian club had shown interest in signing Arturo Vidal who has played for the club under Antonio Conte and Ivan Rakitic, however, both the options did not materialize as both the players are in the late stages of their career and Juventus definitely do not require more older players in their squad.

Juventus believe that the addition of Arthur Melo would provide the aged midfield creativity as well vision when the Barca man would be paired with Rodrigo Bentancur, the duo can easily dominate the midfield game since Arthur has the creativity and Bentancur has the effortless work rate.

For the arrival of the talismanic Brazilian, the Serie A leaders would have to make way for the player by either showing Blaise Matuidi the door or former Real Madrid man, Sami Khedira.

Miralem Pjanic, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Arthur Melo would form a strong midfield for the club to achieve some success in Europe with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala in the attack. However, the issue is that the Catalans are demanding 80 million euros for the Brazilian, Arthur Melo is known to lead a poor lifestyle that is demanded from a footballer and it has impacted his matchday conditioning as well.

For Juventus, it would be a risk to pay 80 million euros for the Brazilian and in Barcelona, they would be celebrating as it would help them in the upcoming transfer market since they already have a tight limited budget due to the pandemic.
