Juventus’ best player wants to get the better of his former rivals and has asked them to snap up on the services of a chief Barcelona target.

Barcelona signed Antoine Griezmann last summer from Atletico Madrid for 120 million euros. The Frenchman’s arrival at the Camp Nou was seen in mixed eyes due to the fact that he had publicly rejected the club just one year earlier. Nevertheless, Griezmann has performed well even though he’s been employed as a left winger most of the time.

More from Everything Barca

From the 120 million euros which the Blaugrana paid for their man in July, 15 million euros was a figure for Saul Niguez and his rights where the Catalans would get an option to match or improve the transfer fee by any of his suitors. As such, Saul is at the peak of his career and would want to move away from Atletico Madrid, where he is not winning much silverware.

Don Balon has reported that even though Barca may initially not be interested in signing the Spain international, competition from Juventus is likely to come their way as Cristiano Ronaldo wants the player to arrive at the Allianz Stadium. The Serie A giants need a better midfield, so Saul might be an incredible signing.

Saul Niguez has been one of Atletico Madrid’s best players of late and has performed well at the biggest of stages. However, the 25 year old is valued at 100 million euros so not many clubs will be able to compete for his signing and more so amid the recent pandemic. Whether Barca can remains in question, but Juventus certainly will be able to.

If Barcelona manage to get their hands on Saul, it would be a massive boost for them because the player is an absolute workhorse and is a player of Andres Iniesta’s hybrid. The player’s passing, composure and decision-making is fantastic and therefore, he can be the attacking midfielder that Barca have been needing since a season or two.

Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic are said to be looking for exits and as a matter of fact, the latter has been wanted by Diego Simeone since a few weeks. Should the Croatia international find Atletico Madrid an interesting option, a swap deal may be on the cards and therefore, Barcelona would save on some hard-cash if they bring in Saul.
