Former Barcelona legend, Pedro has offered himself to Barca as possible back up winger as the Spaniard’s contract runs out with Chelsea in June.

In football, when a player leaves a club for good it does not necessarily mean that the club has closed it’s doors for the return of a player they once lost. Some of the famous returns include Ricardo Kaka’s return to AC Milan in 2013, Thierry Henry’s return to Arsenal, and Alvaro Morata’s short return to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2016, however, at Barcelona, there seems to be a potential return of a long lost legend.

More from Everything Barca

Don Balon claims that Pedro Rodriguez of Chelsea had called Gerard Pique regarding a possible return to the Camp Nou. The pair have shared several magical moments together such as winning two Euro’s with Spain and a World Cup in 2010 and winning the treble on two occasions with Barcelona.

The soon to be 33-year-old Chelsea winger finds himself in a difficult situation as the Blues have no intention to renew the contract of the former Barca man, whose contract is set to run out in the coming month of June.

Roma and Napoli have shown interest in signing Pedro Rodriguez and the player would have to accept a huge slash in his salary when compared to what he earns in England and he would also be offered a secondary role. However, the Spaniard prefers to play his last few seasons of football with his beloved club Barcelona and that it would be his dream come true to hang his boots up at the Camp Nou.

The former Barca winger has scored 99 goals during his tenure as Blaugrana and the option of a possible return could see him enter the century club.

However, Josep Maria Bartomeu has no plans on signing the Chelsea winger as he has several other options on his agenda such as Mikel Oyarzabal or Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
