Barcelona and Manchester City enter a transfer domino worth 200 million euros that would see two major players make their ways out from either of the clubs.

Barcelona and Manchester City have an important transfer market coming up as both the teams have plans on recruiting players for the coming season to compete for all competitions.

More from Everything Barca

Liverpool has taken the league by a storm this season, the Reds are 25 points ahead of Manchester City and if the Premier League is to resume, the Reds would be crowned champions of England after ages. However, Pep Guardiola would not take the defeat well and has already conveyed his message to the Manchester City board about recruiting quality players over the summer to shorten the gap between Jurgen Klopp’s unbeatable side.

Barcelona also has ambitious plans as well, the Catalans continue their endless pursuit for Neymar and Lautaro Martinez as the club wants to close in the gap between Real Madrid. The Catalans have not won the Champions League since the night in Berlin in 2015 and it seems like Lionel Messi is growing tired about not winning the prestigious trophy, meanwhile, Real Madrid has won it for a record 4 times in 5 years.

For Barcelona to achieve their relentless pursuit for Neymar and Lautaro Martinez they would have to part ways with players such as Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, who do not contribute much to the club and take up a huge share of the wage budget.

Don Balon claims that Manchester City has shown interest in signing Philippe Coutinho who would act as a backup for Leroy Sane, the German forward has shown tremendous interest in returning to his home country and playing for Bayern Munich.

Pep Guardiola has asked Txiki Beguiristain to contact the Camp Nou office whether there the opportunity to sign Philippe Coutinho still stands, the former Barca coach believes that the addition of the Brazilian forward would put Manchester City on par with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Philippe Coutinho has been tried and tested in the Premier League during his tenure at Anfield and the Brazilian was a majors success for the Reds before Barca swopped him off as the most expensive player in the Catalan clubs history.

If Leroy Sane joins Bayern Munich who have offered a starting figure worth 60 million euros for the left-footed winger, then Philippe Coutinho would be on his way to the city of Manchester.

Manchester City would also have to look for a replacement for David Silva and Barcelona could use the money earned from their Brazilian’s departure to sign either Neymar or Lautaro Martinez and a possible backup midfielder as well.
