Barcelona considers signing Jose Mourinho’s midfielder from Tottenham Hotspur to add depth and versatility to their squad.

Barcelona might have a completely different midfield in the coming season since the board at Camp Nou has considered showing the door to a few midfielders including Arthur Melo, Ivan Rakitic, and Arturo Vidal.

More from Everything Barca

In the case of Arturo Vidal, the latest rumours state that Antonio Conte demands 90 million euros along with Arturo Vidal as part of the swap and Antoine Griezmann on a season-long deal at the San Siro for the Catalan’s long term favourite target Lautaro Martinez.

In the case of Arthur Melo, the Blaugrana have received an 80 million euro offer for their Brazilian midfielder from Juventus, who are on the look for potential replacements for Sami Khedira and Blaise Matuidi.

If Barca agrees to the departure of both the South American midfielders, then Quique Setien would be left with only an aged Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, and Ivan Rakitic. To add more depth to the midfield, Josep Maria Bartomeu has considered signing one of the most versatile midfielders from the Premier League who is being unused by the former Real Madrid manager, according to Don Balon.

The player that the Catalans have added to their agenda as a possible addition to the midfield is the all-round midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele. The French midfielder is extremely versatile as he can play as a central defensive midfielder, centre midfielder and even as a box to box midfielder when demanded.

The former Lyon midfielder is a complete footballer with a strong physical presence, has the ability to carry the ball forward and can throw in strong and conservative tackles when required to do so. However, his time at Tottenham Hotspurs has not gone very well since Jose Mourinho does not fancy the French midfielder a lot.

The Special One has criticised the former Lyon midfielder on several occasions in the public, that has severely disheartened the player and to make matters worse, the north London team will not be playing Champions League football next season and Ndombele does not want to be part of a team that is not providing him with Champions League football.

Barcelona could offer between 50-60 million euros to the Premier League team as they would not offer anything below 60 million since they would not recover the investment they had made.

Should the Catalan club opt for Tanguy Ndombele as an addition to their midfield?
