Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has put forward his ambitious projects if he is to become the next president of the sinking Catalan club.
The former Barcelona president was in charge of the club from 2003-2010, under the reigns of Joan Laporta, Barca won two Champions League trophies and four Spanish League titles as well.
Joan Laporta was considered as one of the best presidents in the club’s history and a few remarkable signings were made under his era such as Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto, Thierry Henry, and Laporta sacked Frank Rijkaard and appointed the inexperienced Pep Guardiola that made Barcelona the greatest team in football during his managerial stint at the Camp Nou.

The former president has put forward a proposal for his return and he has a strategic plan made that consists of several signings that would win the hearts of the officials at Barca and turn them against Josep Maria Bartomeu.
El Desmarque claims that Joan Laporta has assured that his first step would be to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain and appoint Xavi Hernandez as the coach of Barcelona to bring back the Tiki-Taka style of football that had faded away under Ernesto Valverde.
While on an interview with Deportes Cuatro, the member of the Catalan parliament stated that he would bring together a group of officials who have years of experience at the top level and has immense trust in them to help him rebuild the club.
Under his presidential rule, Real Madrid did not win a single Champions League trophy, and the former president plans on doing the same as he believes that he could put together a team that could stop the dominance of Real Madrid on the elite European stage.
Joan Laporta has assured that he would ensure the renewal of Lionel Messi’s contract and that he understands why the captain of Barca is hesitant and disheartened over the current state of the club.
Although the Spaniard has promised the return of Neymar, the appointment of Xavi and the renewal of Lionel Messi, one should not forget that the former president had corned the board in 2003 when he promised the signing of David Beckham, ultimately, the Manchester United right midfielder signed for arch-rivals Real Madrid.
