Quique Setien has listed some players such as Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele and Samuel Umtiti to leave Barcelona in order to raise funds for the summer transfer window.

More from Everything Barca

Lionel Messi has displayed his desire to add Philippe Coutinho to the list of players not wanted at the Camp Nou. Although, Quique Setien has informed the management of Barcelona that he wants to give the Brazilian playmaker another chance to prove his worth for the club.

Coutinho was once considered amongst the best playmakers in football and was signed by the Spanish giants in the 2017-2018 season for 145 million euros. However, the former Liverpool winger hasn’t been able to perform well for Barca scoring only 21 goals and providing 11 assists in 76 games.

The midfielder eventually lost his place in the squad this season as the management decided to send him on a long-term loan spell to Bayern Munich.

The loan spell in the Bundesliga was disappointing and Coutinho is set to return to the Camp Nou this summer. According to the Don Balon, some members in Barca’s management felt satisfied with the Brazil international’s performance in his loan spell and believe that he could add great value to their attack in the coming season by playing as an attacking midfielder. The La Liga leaders are yet to make any decision regarding Coutinho’s future.

Barcelona should sell their record-signing in the summer transfer market and fulfil Lionel Messi‘s demands. The Argentinean captain is currently negotiating his contract extensions with the club and has been extremely specific of how he wants the club to be lined up in the upcoming season.

Coutinho has an estimated market value of around 70 million euros and is on the radar of many clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Selling the Brazilian maestro will further help towards fulfilling Messi’s demand of signing either Neymar or Lautaro Martinez in the upcoming transfer window. The attacking duo have been in phenomenal form for their clubs respectively and show great signs that they will re-energise Barcelona’s attack if they are signed in the upcoming transfer window.
