Manchester City’s best player of the season could leave the club and Barcelona need to be alert over the situation due to their high chances.

Barcelona’s midfield could be in for a major reshuffle this summer as they look for major reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window. Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic have been tipped to leave the club following the end of this season and lately, there have been suggestions that Arthur Melo could be part of a swap deal with Juventus too.

Among those incoming, Miralem Pjanic is a likely man as the Serie A giants’ director has confirmed talk of a swap deal. In addition to bringing in the Bosnian, who by the way isn’t promising to be a great arrival, the Catalans must focus on bringing in Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne, who has opened the exit door at the Etihad Stadium, Don Balon says.

Kevin de Bruyne has arguably been Manchester City’s best player in the recent years and perhaps the most in-form midfielder in the world. The suspension of Premier League’s defending champions from the UEFA Champions League could potentially see him miss out on European silverware and hence, he could form part of the Citizens’ exodus too.

Manchester City value their quicksilver jewel at 100 million euros, even in a time of a financial depression caused to the coronavirus pandemic. The Belgium international sees himself interested in joining Real Madrid where he already knows compatriots Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, besides being a staunch admirer of Zinedine Zidane.

Having said that, it doesn’t look likely the Merengues will go for him because their coach is insistent on landing Paul Pogba and his roster already boasts the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco and Federico Valverde among others. Nonetheless, even with his value on hand, he promises to be a sensational signing if de Bruyne makes himself available to Barca.

La Liga’s leaders may not face financial issues after all should they manage to get rid of Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and some other players considered to be deadweight. Moreover, they don’t seem to be likely candidates for the expensive Lautaro Martinez and therefore could settle for Timo Werner, worth just 60 million euros.

De Bruyne is capable of playing on the wings and is a synthesized player who certainly will contribute to goals and assists at the Camp Nou. As such, he should be prioritized over Neymar as well simply because of the wage and transfer fee concern, plus the fact that there will be several more opportunities to sign the Brazilian who is desperate to return to Catalonia.

So far in the season, the former Wolfsburg superstar has managed to score nine times and provide no less than 20 assists. All this has been happening for an inconsistent City side without the world’s best player and thus, there is a possibility that we see an even better version of him at Barcelona.

The Belgian, whose creativity is unmatched and mentality an asset, will fit perfectly into Barca’s system that requires a lot of control on the ball. If Antoine Griezmann can adapt to a central role and miraculously Coutinho stays and settles, de Bruyne’s arrival might just make Quique Setien’s side the best in the world after a long hiatus.
