Luis Suarez set for Barcelona departure as the club wants money

Barcelona might sell Luis Suarez to David Beckham‘s Inter Miami as they are in desperate need of raising €70m before June 30.

According to The Sun, David Beckham’s Inter Miami are preparing an offer to sign Barcelona star striker, after being told the Uruguayan is allowed to leave the club for the right offer.

The club’s finances have been significantly affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the two-month hold on La Liga has forced the club into offloading highly rated players as their sales and high wages could aid the club’s intentions of recovering their finances.

Despite scoring 14 goals in 23 appearances this season, the 33-year-old is undoubtedly a shadow of his former self and the Spanish giants are now willing to listen to clubs around the world for the Uruguayan’s services.

Suarez has previously spoken about his potential move to the MLS in the future, to which the striker said,

"“You never know. I have a contract. but, in the future, it’s an attractive league. The United States is a nice option.”Source Marca"

If the transfer goes through, Suarez’s hefty wage could be a load off of Barca and his sale will help them recoup the financial losses they face due to COVID-19. Beckham’s MLS side will have the perfect marquee player in Suarez ahead of their first-ever season.
