Juventus confirm negotiations with Barcelona over their midfield maestro
Juventus have admitted to having spoken to Barcelona over a possible swap deal including Miralem Pjanic for the Brazilian midfielder, Arthur Melo.
The situation at Barcelona changes every day in the case of the Brazilian midfielder, Arthur Melo. Ernesto Valverde was the first official to inform the board regarding the talismanic midfielder’s poor matchday conditioning due to the hedonistic lifestyle the midfielder leads.

Arthur Melo is a close friend of the former Barca man Neymar, together the pair have been spotted several times partying in the city of Paris, which is now home to Neymar after his world-record move in 2017.
Until a few months ago there were rumours claiming that Bartomeu and the Brazilian’s agent had a brief discussion on the player’s lifestyle and fitness, it was decided that the Brazilian midfielder would get another season to play at Camp Nou, however, it was more of an ultimatum rather than assurance, the board assured the agent that if the player does not make amends in the one extra season he has been given, then he would be shown the door.
However, it seems like the Catalan club has lost their patience with Arthur Melo and has decided to add him to the transfer market since the player is valued at 56 million euros and Barca could push that figure up till 75-80 million euros.
El Desmarque claims that the creative midfielder has been included in a possible swap deal that would see Miralem Pjanic of Juventus sign for Barcelona and Arthur Melo move to the city of Turin.
Miralem Pjanic would definitely be a valuable addition to the inconsistent midfield at the Camp Nou, but at the cost of losing a young midfielder to sign a 30-year-old experienced midfielder instead is a complicated situation.
However, Juventus’s sporting director Andre Paratici confirmed that the statements are true and that the Italian team is communicating with Barca and several other clubs over a possible deal.
The situation still remains unclear as Arthur Melo himself stated that he wants to continue at Barcelona and that he is happy with the confidence shown in him by the coach and the staff at the club.
What is your opinion on losing out Arthur Melo for an experienced and versatile 30-year-old Miralem Pjanic instead?
