PSG are reportedly demanding a hefty transfer fee for their superstar with the Catalans looking to reduce the price by offering players in exchange. The Brazilians massive price tag is not the only problem for the Spanish giants as his current salary of 600k pounds a week at the Parisians will cause a crisis amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 28-year-old, however, is willing to accept a 50 percent wage reduction, making his salary 300k pounds a week at the Nou Camp.
Strangely, this news comes after reports claiming Neymar is among the players refusing to accept a wage cut for PSG during the ongoing pandemic. The French side had previously attempted to extend Neymar’s stay at the Parc des Princes by offering a 90 million pound deal. If accepted, the Brazilian’s contract would have expired in 2025 instead of the current date of 2022.
Neymar, however, is adamant about signing for Barca this summer with PSG reportedly asking for 132 million pounds. Along with Neymar, Barca are also attempting to sign Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, who is also a highly-priced played.
It remains to be seen if Barca could manage both singings after the financial impacts caused by the coronavirus crisis.
Should Blaugrana sign either of the players during such a financially difficult time?
