Juventus midfielder, Miralem Pjanic, could move to Barcelona this summer with reports claiming agreement of a four-year deal.

Barcelona have been keen on signing the Juventus midfielder with reports previously stating that Brazilian Arthur Melo will head the opposite direction.

The negotiations have been successful according to Italian sources, with Pjanic agreeing to sign a four-year contract with the Catalans. The difference, however, is that the player linked with a move to Allianz Stadium is Barca’s Croatian midfielder, Ivan Rakitic.

Pjanic is a wanted man in Europe with Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea reportedly interested in signing the 30-year-old. The Bosnian international, however, has shown desires to fulfill his life long dream of playing for Blaugrana.

Juventus are open to other offers but hope to secure a Barca player like Arthur but the Spanish giants are adamant about giving only Rakitic in exchange.

The Croatian is no longer favored by the Barca board despite coach Quique Setien’s research concluding that the team performs their best when the 32-year-old is included in the XI. Rakitic, however, is keen on living out his current contract that expires in 2021 and has no intention of leaving.

Pjanic is valued around 50 million euros but the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has affected the player’s economic value with reports suggesting a fee of around 30 million should suffice. If the deal does go through, the Bosnian will be 34 years old at the end of his contract and may even retire at the Nou Camp.

Should Barca finalize the deal for Pjanic?
