The outbreak of the coronavirus has left Barcelona with financial problems which has made it difficult for the club to allocate sufficient funds in order to sign their primary transfer targets. Thus, Quique Setien has decided to look for other alternatives to sign in place of Lautaro Martinez and Neymar.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one player who is being considered as an alternative to sign in place of the offensive duo. The Gabon international is desperate to leave Arsenal in order to play Champions League football as well as to gain the opportunity to win silverware on a more regular basis which the Gunners have failed to provide him with.
Despite being 30 years old Aubameyang has displayed phenomenal form in the last two seasons scoring 39 goals in 62 Premier League appearances. The striker has an estimated market value of 60 million Euros and has found himself on the radar of many top European clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
According to the Mirror, Real Madrid have decided to give Arsenal’s captain time until the middle of June to decide whether he wants to leave England and join Zinedine Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu. Many believe the Spanish club plan to include Dani Ceballos in their transfer negotiations with the Gunners. However, as of now Real Madrid has put this transfer on hold and are waiting for the season to restart before they take any further actions.
Barcelona must try and lure Aubameyang away from Real Madrid as the striker can act as an ideal replacement for Luis Suarez who is rumoured to leave the club. Moreover, The La Liga leaders will gain the opportunity to use their limited transfer funds to sign world-class defensive replacements for Samuel Umtiti and Junior Firpo who are set to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window.
The Spanish giants could try and include players such as Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal to bring down the asking price in the transfer negations with Arsenal.
What do you think will happen with Aubameyang?
