Josep Maria Bartomeu is doing all he can to retain his presidential post at Barcelona ahead of next year, and this could be a great move.

Ousmane Dembele arrived at Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for nearly 120 million euros in the summer of 2017. The France international has been lacklustre since his first days at the club, and as if his fitness issues were not enough of a headache, Dembele’s off-field antiques have forced the club into transfer-listing him going into the summer.

More from Everything Barca

The former Borussia Dortmund winger has been playing poorly but most importantly, the most recent soft tissue injuries he has suffered have been a result of his poor lifestyle, with such fitness snags accounting to factors such as lack of sleep, nutrition deficiencies, etc. Having said that, Dembele has even failed to turn up for training at times.

Diario GOL has reported that Lionel Messi is relentlessly pushing Barca to get rid of their big-money signing as his patience keeps thinning with Ousmane Dembele and his horrible attitude. Josep Maria Bartomeu has been urged to sell the player even if that means for a lesser price and the president does agree, more so after his latest ludicrous gesture.

All of Barcelona’s players were supposed to report for coronavirus testing earlier this month before they could be allowed to resume individual training. While everybody was present for the tests, there was one absentee- Ousmane Dembele. The World Cup winner was in Paris and unaware of the club’s doctoring, thus, unable to make a return to Spain.

So far, Dembele has struggled to find a suitor but earlier it had been thought that Liverpool would be interested in landing the Frenchman. Besides the eventual Premier League champions, even Paris Saint-Germain were going to offered the player in a deal for Neymar, but with newly unfolding disciplinary breaches against the forward, it’s hard to see anyone wanting him.

dark. Next. Messi's close ally is unhappy and will depart Barcelona

Where do you think Dembele’s next destination would be?
