Manchester City reportedly has permitted Leroy Sane to leave in the summer transfer window which has caught the attention of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

After two glorious record-breaking seasons under Pep Guardiola, the tide for Manchester City has now changed and the club is set to face an ugly two years without Champions League football and possible departures of crucial players who would want to play regular Champions League football. Leroy Sane has made his decision clear and the board at Manchester City has given the player the green light to move in the summer market which has caught the attention of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

More from Everything Barca

The German left-footed winger’s contract runs out next summer and the player has shown no intention of renewing his stay at the Etihad Stadium. The defending Premier League champions are aware of the situation regarding their winger and selling the former Bundesliga man in the coming summer market would be their best shot at cashing in on the player rather than losing him on a free transfer when his contract runs out.

Bayern Munich was tipped as favourites to snatch the winger last season, however, his injury had called off the operation and this season again the Bundesliga giants are once again the favourites to sign Leroy Sane. Although the Bavarian based club is tipped as favourites, the offer from Germany has been valued at 45 million euros and the board at the Etihad Stadium has valued their winger for around 80 million euros, according to Don Balon.

The board at Manchester City consider the offer made by Bayern Munich to be insufficient for Leroy Sane as they prefer to receive an amount closer to his market value.

The German club’s poor transfer offer has caught the attention of Real Madrid and Barcelona who are also keen on signing the 24-year-old winger. Zinedine Zidane would preferably not require the services of Leroy Sane since he already has Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio and Vinicius Junior for the left flank, however, Zidane might consider converting the left-winger into a right-winger since he can cut in from the flanks and have a shot on goal with his left foot like Gareth Bale.

The situation regarding the departure of Gareth Bale is highly complicated since the former Tottenham Hotspur winger wants to run his contract out at Real Madrid despite the harsh criticism and the lack of game-time. However, the Welsh winger is willing to leave the club if he only receives an offer that is willing to meet his wage demands.

If Gareth Bale does leave Real Madrid in the summer, Zidane could consider either converting Leroy Sane into a right-winger or opting for Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

In the case of Barcelona, Quique Setien has Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele, Martin Braithwaite, and Ansu Fati as his attacking options, however, from all the attacking players, the former Real Betis manager lacks a natural left winger and playing Antoine Griezmann on the wings has not worked this season.

If Quique Setien decides to bench Luis Suarez and make the French forward their main striker then the addition of Leroy Sane on the left wing would play an instrumental role in the attack for Barcelona.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich would have to battle it out to sign the 24-year-old winger who is still working on his recovery after sustaining an ACL injury against Liverpool last August.
