Barcelona is willing to part with three players in the coming summer to sign Nabil Fekir from Real Betis to bolster the midfield.

Nabil Fekir’s shock move in the summer market of the 2019/20 season was a surprise for many football fans around the world. The former Ligue 1 midfielder was linked with several big-money moves to either Real Madrid, Barcelona or to the Premier League, however, the brave Frenchman decide to try his fortune at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

Like fortune favours the brave, Nabil Fekir hit the ground running in his debut season with Real Betis scoring seven goals and three assists in 22 games in the La Liga Santander. However, the former Lyon man’s hot run of form ended abruptly and rather sadly as the league was suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

The versatile midfielder has adapted to the demands of the Spanish League in a short span of time and the French player’s last outing on the field was against Real Madrid at the Benito Villamarin Stadium. Nabil Fekir played a decisive role in the club’s victory against the Los Blancos by securing an assist in the game that ended 2-1 in the favour of Real Betis

Although the French player has adapted well and performed admirably in his debut season, Real Betis are currently ranked 12th on the table and the hopes of playing in Europe seems to be a dream now for the Spanish club.

Don Balon claims that the possibility of not playing in Europe next season has made Fekir regret his decision by signing for Real Betis and Barcelona have now decided to step in by offering the player regular European club football.

Both the clubs share a friendly relation after both the club carried out a joint operation to sign Emerson Royal in 2019. Real Betis are reportedly willing to let their marquee signing, Nabil Fekir, switch to Barcelona and join their former manager Quique Setien in the Camp Nou this summer on one condition.

Real Betis have demanded their former player Junior Firpo, Carles Alena, and Riqui Puig in exchange for their French midfielder. The addition of Nabil Fekir would benefit the Blaugrana as they would no longer the services of Philippe Coutinho who has been more of a burden rather than an asset for the club.
