Now, Adrian Ruben Fernandez, the man who helped Lautaro reach his current status, president of youth football at Racing Club has opened up about the Argentine’s negotiations with Barca and also Lionel’s call to help him reach a decision.

"“Messi called him and wants him by his side soon, I have no doubt,” he said. “For that reason, the deal to sign him is almost there.” Adrian said in an exclusive interview with Sport"

The Inter forward was formally a player for Racing before arriving at Inter in 2018, where he found immense success after managing 25 goals in 66 appearances. Fernandez has given his blessings to the Inter Milan striker and believes that he is the natural successor to Suarez at Barca.

"“I know things will go well in Barcelona and that Lautaro will be an excellent replacement for Suarez. He’s the ideal heir. Thanks to Barça he will continue to grow as a player and a man.” Adrian continued."

The Argentinian international has been named as the top contender for Barca’s hunt for a new striker as recent reports suggest that an enormous contract of 10 million euros per season awaits Lautaro at the Nou Camp.

It remains to be seen what the final deal entails as multiple players are linked with a move to Inter Milan, as part of an exchange deal for Lautaro, like Nelson Semedo, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic, to name a few.
