Lionel Messi recommends a world-class left-back to replace Jordi Alba in the summer market and the board at Barcelona have considered his opinion

Junior Firpo was signed in the summer of 2019-20 as a replacement for Jordi Alba in the coming years after showing immense potential during his spell with Real Betis. However, Junior Firpo’s short career at Barcelona has been nothing short of a disaster, as the former Real Betis man has failed to settle down in his new environment and his poor lifestyle which is followed by his childish behavior has led to several feuds and bust-ups amongst other teammates as well.

Reportedly the debutant left-back has also fallen out with Lionel Messi who has also requested the board of Barca to sign another left-back instead who could potentially replace Jordi Alba. The first player on the list was Marcu Cucurella who has established himself this season in La Liga Santander as one of the most promising talents under Jose Bordalas. However, for a reason not known, Josep Maria Bartomeu has already turned down the possible arrival of Marc Cucurella at the Camp Nou despite being priced at just 10 million euros.

Don Balon claims that Lionel Messi has named another alternative and this time it is his compatriot from the Netherlands, Nicolas Tagliafico. The 27-year-old winger is in the prime of his career and is willing to make a huge leap by moving to any of the top five leagues in Europe.

The Argentine left-back has shown his quality in the last two seasons with Ajax Amsterdam and is the only quality left-back that is available in the market that could replace the veteran Spanish fullback of Barcelona at the given price.

The reports claim that the Dutch team was willing to let their Argentine superstar leave in the coming summer market for a sum worth 30 million euros which seems like an attractive price for the current La Liga leaders who face a severe economic crisis due to the pandemic.
