Jordi Alba is no longer the player he once was. He has been inconsistent and injury-prone in recent times and this likely due to his age factor.

As per Don Balon, Barcelona are on the market for Jordi Alba’s replacement. They are currently keeping a close eye on David Alaba and Nicolas Tagliafico.
Their defence this season has been an absolute disaster and the attack has heavily relied on Lionel Messi to do the goal-scoring part. Luis Suarez on the other hand has spent most of his time on the sidelines owing to a recovery from a knee surgery, while he has been inconsistent when fit.
One of the top targets and one of the brightest looking defenders at the moment, Raphael Guerreiro has entered the Blaugrana’s radar. He is valued around 35 million euros and promises to be a brilliant signing. Buying him would most likely solve the defensive issues in the Camp Nou and also provide them with attacking class down the left.
Aged at 26, the Portugal international seems to have full control over his game and has reached a high level of maturity. Moreover, he would fill in the left-back’s position at Barcelona for the long-term and no wonder that he’d be a perfect fit for the same.
His speed and goal-scoring talent also makes him an asset for the club in terms of attack. He already has 7 goals this season which is a huge number for a defender and to add on to that, 6 assists. He has the potential to become a superstar of the game and that should not be missed.
Jordi Alba is starting to come down with muscle issues and that’s likely to worsen as he ages on. Barcelona should be quick to react over here and go for the Dortmund man who might just leave the Signal Iduna Park for the right price.
Moreover, the asking price for him is not at all high and completely within the range of the Catalan giants. Barcelona will stand in a good stead in the future if they manage to land the 26 year-old.
