Barcelona have identified Miralem Pjanic as a player who can replace Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal in their creative department.

More from Everything Barca

Barcelona have been facing financial problems from a couple of months and ever since the outbreak of coronavirus, they have become worse. In order to reduce their monetary price of signing Pjanic, they’ve offered Juventus the services of Ivan Rakitic in a potential swap deal.

Despite the fact that the Croatian maestro is in top form and has displayed exceptional fitness Juventus have decided to reject this transfer offer.

According to Goal, the Italian giants have demanded that the Catalans must include Arthur Melo in exchange for Pjanic. As things stand this move seems unlikely to happen as Arthur feels that staying in the Camp Nou in the upcoming season will be the best move for his future. The 2018-2019 La Liga champions is still contemplating if they want to sell the Brazilian midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.

Even though Arthur Melo has portrayed horrible form this season in which he has only been able to score 3 goals in 16 La Liga games, Quique Setien should not sell the young midfielder in the upcoming transfer window. This is because the Brazilian midfielder is an extremely versatile player who has shown his ability to play both as an attacking midfielder who can orchestrate great attacks for his side as well as a defensive midfielder who can add another layer of protection to the backline of his squad.

Moreover, Arthur is only 23 years old and many experts believe that he could potentially develop into one of the best midfielders in the world of football.

Barcelona should drop their interests of signing Pjanic and try signing younger midfielders such as Fabian Ruiz or Eduardo Camavinga who can act as long term solutions for the midfield in the Camp Nou.
