Barcelona has entered the race to sign one of Europe’s most wanted player as a potential for Jordi Alba in the coming summer transfer market.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been on the hunt for left-back who could potentially replace their first-choice fullback since the 2018/19 season. In the summer of 2019, both the clubs recruited the players of their choice to replace their first-choice left-back in the near future, however, the Los Blancos came out victorious as the signing of Ferland Mendy has proven to be an important figure in Zidane’s squad to maintain a disciplined defence.

More from Everything Barca

In the case of Barca, the club signed Junior Firpo from Real Betis who was once a long term target of Real Madrid, however, the former Betico man has performed miserably for the Catalans and is on his way out in the coming summer market. Once again, Real Madrid has beaten Barca at the transfer marker game, but this time, the Catalans have considered signing a better replacement for Jordi Alba from Portugal and Florentino Perez would be extremely concerned if the move does fall through.

The player that Josep Maria Bartomeu is keen on signing is Alex Telles who is also wanted by several other top clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and was once heavily linked to Manchester United. The 27-year-old Brazilian of FC Porto is in the prime of his career and is now prepared to make the big jump into the top 5 leagues of Europe and possibly win his first club level European trophy.

The addition of Alex Telles would play an instrumental role for Quique Setien while creating attacking tactics since the Brazilian has the capability to make ongoing runs up and down the flanks while keeping an eye out for an assist. In the 2017/18 season, Alex Telles managed to add 13 assists to his names in 30 league games while also contributing immensely to the defensive department.

The Porto man is up for sale for 30 million euros and Barca would face stiff competition since Paris Saint-Germain is desperate to land the Brazilian left-back as Layvin Kurzawa would be leaving the club as a free agent in the summer.
