Barcelona fullback Nelson Semedo has 5 European giants aligned this summer.

Nelson Semedo is undoubtedly a great talent at Barcelona but his recent failed negotiations have triggered multiple suitors for this summer transfer window.

More from Everything Barca

Often sharing his minutes with Sergi Roberto as the right-back or filling in for Jordi Alba on the left during Jordi’s time out due to injury, Semedo has showcased that he is not only reliable and consistent but also versatile.

After helping the team secure points to hold their position at the top of La Liga, the Portuguese international’s future at the Nou Camp was looking promising but after his injury during a clash against Celta Vigo, Semedo has struggled to bring back that form.

His return during a difficult match against Real Madrid where the full-back clearly struggled saw him often getting replaced by Roberto. On top of that, the negotiations between the club and him regarding a contract extension did not reach an agreement, as Semedo requested a wage greater than what Barca were willing to spend, resulting in the speculations that the Portuguese international is on the way out this summer.

Blaugrana’s sporting director and former left-back, Eric Abidal, has spoken to Semedo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, regarding his transfer in the next window. Mundo Deportivo has reported that there are at least five European giants that are interested in the talented 26-year-old.

Paris Saint-Germain

Everyone knows that Barca are planning on a reunion with PSG’s superstar, Neymar. The French side could involve the Portuguese international as part of an exchange deal, however, this is highly unlikely as the Catalans will still have to pay a significant amount remaining despite adding the right-back. Having said that, it is a different kind of swap that would interest both parties. Barca are interested in both PSG’s right-back Thomas Meunier and left-back Layvin Kurzawa and could look to exchange for either or both these players.
