Barcelona are desperate to sell Philippe Coutinho in the upcoming transfer window.

More from Everything Barca

Philippe Coutinho is currently on loan at Bayern Munich and is set to return to Barcelona at the end of June. The German giants haven’t been satisfied by his performances in which he has only been able to score nine goals in 32 games across all competitions and thus have opted against enabling the 120 million euros buyout clause.

The defending La Liga champions haven’t been impressed by the Brazilian international ever since his lucrative arrival from Liverpool and have decided to sell him in the upcoming transfer window along with other players such as Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, Junior Firpo and Ousmane Dembele.

Arsenal has shown a lot interest in signing Philippe Coutinho over the summer transfer window as stated by the Metro. The Gunners’ manager Mikel Arteta has hinted that he has a dream to make the Brazilian maestro play in the heart of his teams’ midfield. Coutinho’s agent and the management of Arsenal have started negotiating a transfer deal which is expected to be an extremely costly proposition, at least by the north Londoners’ standards.

Even though no transfer offer has been received till now, the former Liverpool winger might reject a move to Arsenal as he will miss the opportunity to play in the Champions League in the upcoming season and possibly longer. Instead of join the Gunners the Copa America winner might try to sign for other teams such as Manchester United, Newcastle United and Chelsea who have shown a lot of interest in him.

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus many clubs are struggling to manage their finances efficiently thus the Spanish giants should try and list the Brazilian maestro on a loan deal with a buyout clause. By doing so Barcelona might get more offers from clubs for their player.

Quique Setien could also try and include Coutinho as part of his future negotiations to reduce the asking price to sign a world-class defender such as Milan Skriniar, Kalidou Koulibaly and Dayot Upamecano.
