Lionel Messi want his idol who is now a villain out from Barcelona

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has asked the club to kick out Eric Abidal.

Lionel Messi and former Lyon defender Eric Abidal have been teammates since 2007 and the pair have won 4 La Liga titles together along with two out of the five Champions League titles Barcelona have won since the club’s establishment.

However, Abidal’s bright career turned around after the player was unfortunately diagnosed with a malignant tumour in his liver, also known as cancer, in 2011. A year later the French defender required an immediate liver transplant in 2012 and after two years since his major surgery, Eric Abidal retired from the beautiful game as a player of Olympiacos.

Despite the unfortunate events that occurred during the final years of the former Barca defender’s career, Eric Abidal returned to his beloved Camp Nou as a replacement for Roberto Fernandez as the club’s director of football in the summer of 2018.

Since then, Abidal has acted as the right-hand man of the corrupt and incompetent Josep Maria Bartomeu who has dragged the club down into the current mess it is in. Bartomeu’s tenure at the Camp Nou has been nothing short of a disappointment and has only sparked outrage with several unnecessary signings and internal politics.

Six board members had resigned from their respective posts a few months ago after they penned a joint letter stating that they were forced to deny that the President had not appointed hackers to defame the club. Eric Abidal was also equally involved in the dirty play led by Bartomeu to defame the club, the current players, and the past legends.

Diaro GOL claims that Lionel Messi, who once looked up to Eric Abidal as his idol at the club has now grown tired with the corruption that continues to prevail under the governance of Josep Maria Bartomeu and the former French defender of Barca and now wants the duo out of the club.

The captain of Barca has fallen out with Eric Abidal this season on numerous occasions after the captain publicly slashed the director of the club by accusing him of defamation of the Barca players, according to The Guardian

Leo Messi is sick and tired of the corruption and the inefficiency that continues amongst the offices in Catalonia and is afraid that his last few seasons at Barca where he hopes to leave the club behind with his great legacy does not get tarnished due to the leadership of Josep Maria Bartomeu and Eric Abidal.
