There were several rumours that the 32-year-old footballer would leave the city of Barcelona this season after falling out with Eric Abidal and Josep Maria Bartomeu due to several internal issues including the infamous hiring of ethical hackers by the president of the club and the salary cut issue that was taken to Instagram as well by the players.
The report from Sky Sports goes on to state that despite the issues, Lionel Messi hopes to continue his legacy at Barca at least until next summer when his contract ends in 2021. Meanwhile, the Blaugrana board led by Josep Maria Bartomeu hopes to extend their best player’s contract by offering the captain a lifetime contract that was similarly offered and accepted by Andreas Iniesta.
Despite catching up with age, the Argentine forward looks sharper than ever, both physically and appearance-wise as the captain of Barca was spotted sporting a clean-shaven look like his earlier days.
Leo Messi has scored 19 goals and 12 assists this season in the La Liga Santander and the Argentine looks forward to hitting the ground running against RCD Mallorca and possibly win his 11th La Liga title.
