Antoine Griezmann hinders Barcelona-Neymar reunion by rejecting PSG

Antoine Griezmann rejects PSG move hindering Barcelona reunion with Neymar.

Barcelona have been trying to reunite with Neymar after the player openly displayed his desire of returning to the Nou Camp with many believing that a deal could be struck this summer.

The ongoing coronavirus crisis has deeply affected the club’s finances resulting in their approach of signing their transfer targets via player exchanges. The Catalan giants attempted to sign their former Brazilian star by offer multiple French internationals like Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele but the most prominent name was Antoine Griezmann.

The former Atletico Madrid striker has been struggling ever since his arrival as the presence of Luis Suarez has pushed the Frenchman to the left flank. Griezmann has been linked with a move this summer but only a few European giants can truly afford him. Manchester United have been strongly linked but Paris Saint-Germain have been targeted by Barca in order to use his sale as a boost for Neymar’s return.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Griezmann, however, has rejected the option of joining the Parisiens because of his love for another Ligue 1 side, Olympique de Marseille. Barca’s no. 17 has never hidden his love for the French side as only two days ago he uploaded a video on twitter showing his son dressed up in Marseille’s kit.

A fan noticed his liking for Marseille and commented saying “Though it may seem far-fetched, I think Griezmann multiples his publications on Olympique de Marseille so that Barca don’t push him towards PSG in order to sign Neymar” to which Griezmann surprisingly replied “Bah Bravooo.”

The French international is probably being sarcastic but the reality remains that he does not want to join parc des princes this summer as he wants to continue developing at Barca.
