Barcelona turn down Messi’s preferred signing and Real Madrid are deemed favorites now
Former Liverpool captain and current football pundit Graeme Souness had stated that Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling of Manchester City are the two possible players that might possibly switch to either Real Madrid or Barcelona in order to win the Champions Leauge trophy one day since the English club is not yet on par with the two Spanish giants.

Last season, Lionel Messi had expressed of the lack of wingers at the Camp Nou and stated that Raheem Sterling’s addition would be beneficial to the club, however, the board snubbed the captain’s decision and opted to sign Antoine Griezmann on a five-year contract that expires in the summer of 2024, according to Don Balon.
The arrival of the former Atletico Madrid forward has shut all the opportunities for Raheem Sterling to sign for the Blaugrana until 2024. The English footballer has now expressed his interest in signing for Real Madrid instead since his parent club has been handed a two-year ban on European club football competitions after breaching the financial fair play rules and regulations.
In fact, the former Liverpool man has even publicly expressed his desire for Real Madrid before the Round of 16 tie at the Santiago Bernabeu where Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling were the standout performers for Pep Guardiola‘s victory over Zinedine Zidane, according to the Express.
Zinedine Zidane would be delighted with the interest shown by the Premier League superstar since his relationship with Gareth Bale has completely fallen apart and the Welsh winger might be on the way out from Madrid this summer depending on the offers he receives.
If Gareth Bale does leave the city of Madrid for a club elsewhere, the rumours state that Real have closed in on either Raheem Sterling, Kylian Mbappe, or Jadon Sancho as potential replacements. The signing of either of the three players would add an exceptional level of threat on the attacking front for the Los Blancos and meanwhile, Quique Setien still ponders over whether to play Antoine Griezmann on the wing or as a striker instead of Luis Suarez.
Should Barcelona have signed Antoine Griezmann? Was it actually worth it? and should Griezmann continue playing on the wings where has failed miserably?
