Cristiano Ronaldo wants a swap deal of more fruition to Barcelona than Juventus.

One or more players are expected to swap pastures between Barcelona and Juventus during the upcoming summer’s transfer window.

More from Everything Barca

The European duo has been holding talks for several swap deals in the recent months and the likes of Arthur Melo, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic from Spain or Matthijs de Ligt and Miralem Pjanic from Turin have been dragged into the picture.

Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele has been the latest player in the news as the Bianconeri are reportedly interested in him to strengthen their flanks. It’s no secret that the Catalans will get rid of the Frenchman at a nominal cost and run away with their losses as soon as possible.

Cristiano Ronaldo has now proposed an enticing swap deal in front of them which is beneficial to at least the La Liga outfit, but maybe not for Juve, Don Balon says.

Real Madrid’s former player is keen on uniting with the World Cup winner at the Allianz Stadium and will therefore ask his side to sanction a deal by sacrificing centre-back Daniele Rugani. The Italian international has been on the transfer list in the Serie A since a while.

Barca will be the winners in all likelihood.

Quique Setien should happily give his greenlight for the agreement to fall in place because he will win massively. Dembele certainly does not have a place at the Camp Nou and his wages are proving big for the club, without them benefitting from his performances.

Meanwhile, Daniele Rugani is a quality central defender who has just fallen out of favour at Juventus lately. Moreover, a centre-back is someone who the Blaugrana need and there’s no pain in experimenting if that means that a major liability is offloaded.

Daniel Rugani may not have a starter’s role at the Camp Nou, but his fitness is certainly better than Samuel Umtiti and can keep him available for most of the campaign. The fact that he can improve and that he’s just 25 also needs to be shed light on.

Juventus however, may not be in a great position after all as they’d be signing an injury prone player and showing the door to someone who is talented but has simply failed as a result of them not giving him enough chances and time.

Do you think that the La Liga leaders should risk signing a player of lesser prominence in the Serie A by exchanging their expensive signing with no place in the squad?
