Barcelona have surely missed out on one of the hottest prospects of the game to Bayern Munich.
As per Don Balon, because of Lionel Messi‘s veto power in the club, Barcelona have lost out on one of the most exciting left-backs in the world and not to mention, one of the very best as well.

The Blaugrana have been on the hunt for quality young players since the last couple of years and Canada international Alphonso Davies was on their radar as well. The signing was as good as done but Messi wanted someone with a bit more stature in the international circuit and that led to the management completely dropping the idea.
Bayern have made full use of the 19 year-old’s potential and have transformed him into one of the world’s best defenders at the moment. Mind you, he is only 19 and his game is simply bound to grow. Moreover, his value is expected to shoot up as well and it’s highly unlikely that the Bundesliga giants would want to give up one of Europe’s best prospects.
Signing Davies is close to becoming a fantasy for Barcelona who had him in their hands at a point in time. They did sign Junior Firpo to back Jordi Alba up but the 23 year-old has failed miserably and the Catalans are back in the market for a left-back. They currently have Nicolas Tagliafico on their minds and he does seem to be a good option.
Barca should learn from their mistake and not allow players to have a say in club matters as it can have disastrous results and can leave all the future plans in shambles. The defence this season hasn’t been good at all and is in fact enduring one of the worst possible runs in the history of the club. They are in need of a revamp and the Spanish giants cannot afford to waste time listening to their players every now and then.
Who do you think would arrive as Alba’s number two in the summer?
