With Lautaro Martinez more or less out of the picture for this summer transfer market, Josep Maria Bartomeu has shortlisted another sensational talent from the Bundesliga. The Catalans had the opportunity to sign Erling Haaland this winter transfer before Borussia Dortmund snatched the prodigy for just 18 million pounds, however, several rumours state that the Blaugrana turned down the possibility of signing the former RB Salzburg because of his agent, Mino Raiola.
Mino Raiola is one of football’s most successful agents in the European stage along with Jorge Mendes, however, the Blaugrana share a poor relationship with Raiola because Matthijs de Ligt was on his way to Barcelona before Raiola convinced the player that Juventus would be a better fit for the former Ajax Captain.
Although persistent bad blow that flows between the two parties, Josep Maria Bartomeu has contacted Mino Raiola for his client Erling Haaland.
Does Barcelona require the services of Erling Haaland?
Who would not require the services of Erling Haaland is the actual question, the 19-year-old has taken the Bundesliga by a storm this season by scoring 16 goals in 14 appearances for Borussia Dortmund in his debut season despite being just 19-years-old! such is the quality of the former RB Salzburg man.
Luis Suarez has shown major signs of deterioration due to his age and his recent surgery on his knee after sustaining a major injury earlier this season. Lautaro Martinez has been Barca’s preferred signing to cover up the former Liverpool man’s role, however, the 111 million euro release clause does not work with Barcelona’s current financial conditions.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland has scored the same amount of goals this season in the Bundesliga than Lautaro Martinez has scored in all competitions this season. The Borussia Dortmund man has a release clause set near about 75 million euros and Real Madrid is eager to sign the 19-year-old soon since Kylian Mbappe seems to be a complicated expensive situation, according to the Sport Bible.
The report from Don Balon claims that Bartomeu has entered into a secret negotiation with Erling Haaland and Mino Raiola his representative. 75 million euros is what the Blaugrana would have to pay for Erling Haaland who is twice the player Lautaro Martinez has been this season.
