Neymar confirms his desire to make a return to Camp Nou this summer, to his Paris Saint-Germain teammates, ahead of Champions League ambitions.

More from Everything Barca

The Brazilian international has been regretting leaving his former club ever since his arrival in Parc des Princes. His achievements alongside former teammates, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, is something that could never be repeated despite PSG’s every attempt to provide Neymar with everything that he needs.

The Ligue 1 champions paid a whopping 222 million euros to buy-out the Brazilian forward back in 2017 in the hopes of securing a Champions League from his services. The former Santos star has rejected the Parisiens’ latest contract renewal offer of 100m euros that would extend his current contract beyond the expiration date of 2022.

The Brazilian superstar is attempting to cause as much trouble as possible to establish his return to Camp Nou as he no longer hides his desires to reunite with Messi and Suarez once again. Mundo Deportivo reports that he has even confessed this to his current teammates, saying  “I want to go to Barça”.

Last year Barcelona was extremely close to making the reunion a reality after offering 130 million euros to PSG, excluding the two players, Ivan Rakitic and Jean-Clair Todibo, as add on. The French side rejected this offer despite Barca’s willingness to include Ousmane Dembele to the deal as well.

Neymar, however, is optimistic about this summer transfer window as with 2 years remaining in his current contract, he can force a move out of France by making FIFA decide his contract termination fee. Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, had his advisor Wagner Ribeiro look into the potential price that would be set and an amount of 164 million euros was stated.

The Article 17 of Fifa transfer regulations allows a player to demand a contract termination amount to be set for his transfer but Barca have voiced that they do not wish to evoke it as it might potentially harm their relationship with PSG for any future transfers.

It remains to be seen if the French side and their president Nasser Al-Khelaifi agree to sell their superstar as his sale would definitely help them secure another massive force in Paris, Kylian Mbappe, for years to come, by providing an exorbitant contract renewal.
