Lionel Messi doesn’t want some people to stay at Barcelona.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi’s contract at the Camp Nou expires in June 2021. The player has made it clear that despite there being an offer on the table, he will not renew terms with the club until he sees a marked change in the management and more important, how the club has been run with regard to the first-team in recent years.

Diario GOL has claimed that the Argentina international has now made a blacklist of those who he wishes against continuing at home of the defending La Liga champions. With that said, the first name on the list is no surprise in the shape of Eric Abidal. The Frenchman is a hero who has turned a villain in the days following Ernesto Valverde’s firing.

Eric Abidal said that the players were not working hard enough under the former Athletic Bilbao manager to which Lionel Messi demanded an explanation by taking to social media. Ever since that bust-up, the club’s former player has been linked with a sack and perhaps even he knows that his position for next season is under jeopardy.

There need be notable changes.

Next, the captain wants the Blaugrana to get rid of Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic, two ageing midfielders who haven’t got much gas in their cylinders but would definitely get some much-needed cash. Arthur Melo and Sergi Roberto could follow suit and the 32-year-old will not intervene in either of their sales too.

Messi also has requested for the sales of Antoine Griezmann, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele. The latter duo hasn’t settled in well and an exit is imminent, whereas the Argentinian ace is not a big fan of Griezmann anyway and was never in favour of him signing for the club. As such, he believes that selling the trio can help fund other expensive moves.

Finally, his demands over Lautaro Martinez and Neymar are no secret, but he would also like to see a bigger refurbishment of the team. Of late, the defence has been lacklustre, so too has the midfield, and unless and until a transfer window is put to productive use, Messi will delay his contract renewal- one of Bartomeu’s chief agendas.

Who else do you think must leave Barca this summer?
