Ousmane Dembele’s future at Barcelona

Ousmane Dembele’s future at Barcelona still remains uncertain as the days pass, the former Borussia Dortmund player’s career at the Camp Nou has gone from being one of the most exciting prospects to an unwanted liability at the club.

More from Everything Barca

The French forward is one of the many expensive flop signings made under the fruitless presidential reign of Josep Maria Bartomeu. However, the president of Barca plans on making amends this summer and the only option left with the Catalan’s is to sell unwanted players in the summer to raise money.

One must remember that Ousmane Dembele was signed for approximately 145 million euros in the summer of 2017 after Neymar left the club on world-record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. The 19-year-old then was signed as a marquee signing along with a ridiculous salary worth 12 million Euros per year and if Barca considers offloading their forward this summer, then a figure near about 80-100 million euros would ensure a return on the investment made.

Although Dembele is one of the best youngsters in world of football, his long list of injuries makes him unwanted a figure at many clubs as well. Earlier, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Liverpool had shown tremendous interest in signing the former Bundesliga man, however, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool remains as the only suitors still interested.

Liverpool’s condition to Barcelona on Ousmane Dembele

Due to the current pandemic that the world faces, Liverpool FC finds itself in a tough spot financially and will not be making major signings this summer, unfortunately. The Reds were favourites to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig this summer, but due to a lack of funds, the current Premier League leaders discontinued their interest which has seen Frank Lampard’s Chelsea become the favourites to sign Europe’s wanted striker.

After losing out Timo Werner, Liverpool has made it clear that they would only sign Ousmane Dembele on a loan as Jurgen Klopp believes that he could make most of the talent the French forward possesses, according to the Express.

The news emerging from England has shaken the offices at the Camp Nou as Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho were the only two shots at raising a considerable figure in the coming summer market.

Should Barcelona let Ousmane Dembele join Liverpool FC on a loan this summer?
