The current situation between Barcelona and Neymar
Since Barcelona lost Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer market of 2017, Barca has been on the hunt to sign an alternative forward for Neymar. Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho were the two immediate marquee signings post-Neymar’s departure, however, the Brazilian and the French forward have been nothing short of an epic disaster at the Camp Nou.

In the last two seasons, Neymar was heavily linked to a return to his former club, however, the negotiations never materialised for a switch in clubs. However, this summer, the former Barca winger is once again heavily linked to a return and rumours claim that the Brazilian forward has told his teammates at Paris that he wants a move back, however, the pandemic has hit the current La Liga leader hard and the club currently face an economic crisis which has ruled out the potential return of Neymar.
Richarlison of Everton to replace Neymar at Barcelona?
The former Brazilian winger is 28-years-old and would possibly sign for his former club next season when he would turn 29, would it be a wise decision from the board to sign a 29-year-old winger for over 180 million euros?. On that note, 23-year-old Richarlison of Everton is more feasible, cheaper, and younger alternative for Bartomeu to consider.
Although Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund would be Barca’s best shot at signing a young winger for the future, unfortunately, the English forward is linked with a move to Chelsea or Manchester United this summer.
Earlier rumours from Spain had stated that Richarlison was in talks with the Spanish giants over a possible transfer and former Everton manager, Marco Silva, has stated that the player has the quality to play for the Catalan team someday, according to GOAL.
The Toffees man can play as a centre-forward or can we even be deployed on either side of the wings. Richarlison can provide Quique Setien the depth and versatility in his squad by securing his services, this season the Brazilian has managed to score 10 goals and 3 assists in 27 games for Everton in the Premier League. In fact, the Premier League superstar could also be a cheaper alternative to Lautaro Martinez to replace Luis Suarez.
Would you want to see Richarlison at Barcelona next season? The Brazilian could either be deployed as the striker replacing Luis Suarez or could play on the left-wing that would then permit Antoine Griezmann to shift to the centre of the field which is his natural position as well.
Do you believe Richarlison has what it takes to play for the Blaugrana?
