Barcelona enquire to sign a young Argentinean superstar

Barcelona seem focused on establishing a team full of young superstars.

Barcelona have decided to sell players such as Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic from their squad to sign younger players over the next few transfer windows who can reestablish the clubs midfield by playing alongside other young players such as Frenkie de Jong and Arthur Melo.

The La Liga leaders have shown interest to sign many young players such as Fabian Ruiz, Sandro Tonali and Eduardo Camavinga. However, no official transfer offer has been made till now for these players and these players are heavily linked to join other big European clubs such as PSG, Real Madrid and Manchester United. To make matters worse for the Spanish giants these players come at an expensive price point which the club can’t afford as this point of time as they have a limited transfer budget due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Barca have enquired to sign Thiago Almada.

Thiago Almada has started to gain interest from big European clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Manchester United after displaying great versatility in his play over the last two seasons for Velez Sarsfield in Argentina. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has been approached by Barca who are keen to bring the young Argentinean to the Camp Nou as stated by the Goal.

Pablo Cavallero, Velez Sarsfield’s sporting director has passed a statement in which he has said that the club would like the Argentinean to stay  at his club and become more mature as a player and would only consider selling his star player who has a contract at the Argentinean club till 2023 if he receives an offers with a large sum of money in order to sign the young playmaker. The 19 year old has an estimated market value of around 20 million euros.

Barcelona could try and offer Arturo Vidal as part of a swap deal to secure Almada at a cheaper transfer fee in the upcoming transfer window. Vidal might agree to go ahead with this deal as there have been reports over the past few weeks which have stated that the Chilean international might want to play in the Argentinean league.
