Sport reports that earlier that the Catalan giants had to rule Neymar’s transfer out for this summer as the Parisien’s asking price was too high for them to afford. Barca had hoped to reduce his 170 million euro transfer fee by providing many of their own players like Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, and Samuel Umtiti.
The French side rejected every player and demanded the amount to be paid in cash, an impossible task for Barca considering their ongoing negotiations with Inter Milan for the sale of Lautaro Martinez that is reportedly involving 70 to 90 million euros along with the trade of Jean-Clair Todibo.
The Ligue 1 club are relaxed with the situation as they are aware of Barca’s financial situation but the pressure from Neymar along with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez‘s desire to reunite with their former teammate might push Barca to make it a reality.
Sport via Le 10 Sport reports that sporting director Leonardo is aware of the possible scenario of losing their superstar and would be required to sign an immediate replacement to fill the gap. For that reason, PSG have targetted Chelsea’s wantaway winger, Willian.
The 31-year-old is out of contract this summer and could prove to be the perfect successor to his fellow Brazilian.
Should Barca push to sign Neymar or wait another season?
