Arthur Melo has been rumoured to leave Barcelona.

More from Everything Barca

The 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder was heavily linked with a move away from Barcelona to Inter Milan earlier in April and more recently to Juventus as part of a swap deal to bring Miralem Pjanic to the Camp Nou as stated by the Goal.

This season Arthur has only been able to play 24 matches throughout the course of the season due a series of injuries. Despite these injuries the player has an estimated market value of 60 million Euros and is on track to become one of the greatest central midfielders in the world.

Quique Setien counts on Arthur Melo for the remainder of the season.

The Spanish giant’s manager has not addressed whether he would be keen on selling his young midfielder who has a contract with the club till 2024 in the upcoming transfer window. As things stands, the manager has stated that he counts on Arthur Melo along with every other player in the squad to play the remainder of the games till the end of this season. The young midfielder played the last 19 minutes of the match against RCD Mallorca and is suspected to feature in more matches like these till the end of the season.

Even though the young midfielder has been on the radar of many clubs the current La Liga leaders must not sell their player as this will put a lot of pressure on Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets who are the only two midfielders who have secured their place at the Camp Nou in the upcoming season. Other midfielders such as Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal are set to be sold or included in swap deals over the summer transfer window to raise sufficient funds to sign the clubs transfer targets.

Barcelona should not sell Arthur as the club has plans to establish a younger squad and the Brazilian midfielders is considered to be one the most talented midfielders at his age. If the club ends up selling the player the management might find it tough to find a replacement for the midfielder at a cheap rate and would have to compete with clubs such as PSG, Juventus and Real Madrid who are currently trying to sign similar players.
