Lionel Messi livid at Barcelona players and coach despite wins
Barcelona face tougher tests down the line in La Liga.
Barcelona got their second win on the trot as they laboured past Leganes for a 2-0 success. Ansu Fati was on target with a sublime finish before Lionel Messi slotted past the opponent’s goalie from the penalty spot to seal the points. The good news is that the club now leads Real Madrid by five points before facing a tough test in Seville on Friday.

Despite scoring six times as a team in the process, Lionel Messi is reportedly unhappy with the team’s performance and attitude and vows to see a major change, especially given that every player will be crucial when matches are held every three days. Diario GOL states that the Argentinian was at the head of a pep talk which him and Quique Setien hope will be beneficial.
Lionel Messi highlighted that Barca must now start scoring more often and killing off matches earlier with the five substitutions rule. If a club cannot make the most of it, it is the Catalans as a result of the lack of their squad depth. With that said, the captain wants assistance from the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez and Martin Braithwaite in finding the back of the net.
The fixtures will come thick and fast.
Defensively, Barca did look solid in their first match against Mallorca but were at the end of some lapses against Leganes. In fact, the Madrid-based minnows could have scored once or twice in the opening half as a result of Junior Firpo and Sergi Roberto being caught napping on an occasion each, allowing Javier Aguirre’s side to attack freely.
Next, the Blaugrana visit the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, one of the toughest venues in La Liga for an away side. The Andalusians are chasing a European spot and will come out on all guns blazing after a day’s rest and a rather harsh result against Levante, where an own goal on the last minute saw them drop two massive points.
How do you think Barcelona will hold-up against Sevilla, their most difficult fixture since losing away at Real Madrid?
