Barcelona face a serious emerging unexpected threat for the Spanish league title

Barcelona would be traveling to the Ramos Sanchez stadium to face Sevilla who is currently basking in great form under Julen Lopetegui management. Tonights away fixture for Quique Setien might pan out to be the title decider if his side drops three points which would see Real Madrid then progress on top of the table.

Quique Setien would also have to devise a masterplan to stop Sevilla’s best forward this season, Lucas Ocampos. The Argentine forward has scored eleven goals this season and has provided three assists so far and is currently basking in fine form. A tactical defensive approach would be required to nullify the former AC Milan’s threat tonight.

However, apart from tonight’s difficult fixture against Julen Lopetegui’s Sevilla, the Blaugrana face a serious threat from Real Madrid who has performed admirably in their last two matches since the suspension of the league.

Is Real Madrid’s fine form a serious threat to Barca?

Certainly! With Eden Hazard back in shape and Karim Benzema looking sharper than ever, Real Madrid seems like serious contenders who would not be dropping points under any circumstances. In fact, Zinedine Zidane has better options off the bench after the return of Marco Asensio who scored a goal with his first touch of the match after being sidelined for 330 days since his ACL injury last year.

If Barca does drop points today against Sevilla then the title race would possibly over for the Catalan’s as Real Madrid’s squad depth and recent form would play a crucial role for them to clinch the title ahead of Barcelona.
