The close links between Neymar and Barcelona are starting to become shaky as the PSG sporting director lands a huge blow to Barcelona.

As per ibtimes.com, Neymar and Mbappe haven’t exactly given a clear indication to their club that they’re willing to leave next season. This comes in the background of some extremely close links to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

Mbappe has been closely associated with a move to Real Madrid with the Los Vikingos keeping a close eye on him since quite some time now. On the other hand, Neymar was apparently close to a reunion with his former club mates but that situation seems to have changed now. He won’t be returning to play alongside Messi, any time soon.

The sporting director of the Ligue 1 giants De Araujo has disclosed that the contracts of Neymar and Mbappe expire in 2022 and while there have been several rumours surrounding the two, he believes that they are here to stay as they haven’t given a clear indication about their intentions to leave. Moreover, he also acclaimed that the club is looking to renew their contacts.

Barca should give up the pursuit of Neymar who is 28 at the moment. He probably has close to 3-4 years left in his peak and a way better option than him is Lautaro Martinez who can replace Suarez and take the reins from Messi in the future. Barcelona should invest in the youth and not the ones who have already left the club once.

Yes, the ‘MSN’ trio was a potent attack but it is better if it’s memory is left untouched. Suarez is not the player he once was and has been largely inconsistent due to his age. Therefore it becomes quite natural that finding his replacement takes the top position over bringing back Neymar.
